every day working side-by-side with their associates to serve our customers – not in an office. Waffle House has systems in place to aid all management to be successful leaders.

Ownership. As a privately held company we offer a stock
program that allows management and hourly associates to
own shares of the company.

A short version
of a long success story.

Two neighbors, Joe Rogers Sr. and Tom Forkner, opened the first Waffle House restaurant on Labor Day 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia.

Joe and Tom recognized early that customers came to Waffle House for Good Food Fast® delivered by friendly associates. From the start they focused the company on making its associates successful, so they in turn could serve the customers.

Since the day we first opened, Waffle House restaurants operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

Today we have more than 1,650 restaurants in 25 states.

Serving in every way we can.

Each Waffle House, though part of a nationwide chain, is run like a neighborhood restaurant. Managers build ties with the people they serve, supporting local schools, organizations and charities with spirit nights, fundraisers and other events.

After major storms, we stay open to serve the community. Waffle House has received national recognition for our ability to operate after severe weather.
