06/12/2010:

It wasn't even noon yet, but an overflow crowd had gathered at the Waffle House on Whiskey Road. Staffer Mildred "Millie" Holley seemed to be everywhere, greeting customers and serving them sodas or orange juice and keeping those waiting for a table entertained.

"Can I get you something to drink, honey?" she said several times. Miss Millie got lots of hugs, a cake and some gifts Saturday in observance of her final day of work. She'll turn 90 on Tuesday and would have gladly stayed on the job, if not for a bad hip.
