Ken Williams, bringing hope and a dream

Ken has participated in HOPE Worldwide for more than 10 years. When HOPE Worldwide began the "Build A Dream" Summer Series 5 years ago, he saw a natural fit and has invited them back to Waffle House Corporate offices every year. Ken has recruited other employees to reach out to the students by sharing their own business experiences. Waffle House employees Andy Bomberger, Valencia Porter and Julie London invest their time to teach the students of HOPE Worldwide about the importance of a good education and staying in school.

HOPE Worldwide Georgia is an Atlanta based nonprofit organization dedicated to the educational and character development of school-aged, minority, and inner-city children. Each year with the help of many volunteers, HOPE Worldwide Georgia helps and mentors hundreds of children to achieve their dreams in life through educational excellence. The "Build A Dream" Summer Series gives inner-city children participating in the HOPE Worldwide Georgia Child Development Program the opportunity to get an up-close and personal glimpse at various aspects of corporate America. This program is set up as an expansion of character development curriculum, allowing students to gain specific insight as to the true value and application of the character education components. The program also allows for caring individuals from the corporate world to invest a small amount of time and effort inspiring school-aged children from outside communities.
